Yellow Moroccan - Mid Atlas hand-knotted moroccan rug wool

Moroccan Berber rugs are handwoven crafts originating from nomadic tribes in the Atlas Mountains. The rugs are known for their geometric patterns in vivid colors and are woven entirely by hand without the use of templates. 

Berber tribes still live in the mountains today, and the weaving tradition is passed down from generation to generation. The material is the finest sheep’s wool, dyed using plants and berries to achieve its rich colors. The natural shades of white, brown, and black come directly from the wool of sheep raised in the mountainous regions.

The Moroccan rugs that dominate are Beni Ourain, as well as the colorful Azilal and Boucherouite styles.
