Tamegroute - candle holder

Tamegroute pottery, handmade in southern Morocco using 17th-century techniques, is renowned for its unique variations in color and form, ensuring no two pieces are identical. While famous for a signature deep emerald green glaze,This wholeheartedly handcrafted pottery made from Draa-river clay is using the time-honoured tradition of the local ancestors. With unique crafting process, tamegroute is only made by seven atelier-families in a small village called Tamegroute and passed by from generation to generation. Its unique green shades are formed using an ancient mixture of natural minerals and elements which remains unchanged. Each piece is one of a kind and bares its own marks and textures which are created once baked in the earth kilns. Characteristics to tamegroute are the well known three marks which appear on each piece due to stacking the pottery in the kilns.
